Out With The Old, In With The New

Happy New Year!  I know I am a bit late…I enjoyed quite a bit of time in December spending time with my family – away from the computer. Since the new year, I have been catching up on many sessions I had left behind during the holidays. Now that I am all “caught up,” I figured it is time to update the blog!

First, I want to say WOW! Wow is the best word to describe 2011. It was a very busy year!  I met so many new and amazing people and had many opportunities to get to know so many more even better than I did before. I am definitely feeling very blessed at this turn of the year. Blessed that I had the privilege of getting to be a part of so many special moments and so many lives. Blessed that I could witness and capture so many beautiful relationships and new miracles of life.

Secondly, I want to take this opportunity to thank those who allowed me into their homes…into their lives…and trusted me to capture their most important family moments. Each one of you is so special to me – you are each a gift to me and to each other.

Finally, since the new year, I have been putting together a slide show of 2011. I *tried* to pull only one image from each session. And so this is just a tiny glimpse of what I saw through my lens. So many emotions. So many sweet faces. So many amazing relationships. So many beautiful lives. And so as I look back, I am feeling full of life and love. I love my job and I can’t wait to see what is in store for 2012 – it is going to be a great year!

The “G” Family and The “C” Cuties

This session was originally going to be a whole group shot for grandma, but with a few scheduling conflicts we had a tough time getting the big group together (maybe next year!) In the meantime, I had a great session with this beautiful family again! After shooting the oldest three kiddos last summer, it was especially fun to see them all together (plus a new addition!)

And then I had the chance to meet and capture these sweet “C” kiddos back to back with the “G” family (these mommies are sisters). They were perfect little models! Also, I just loved this location too!

Welcome Home Jon!

When local soldier, Jon Cox, returned home from his tour in Afghanistan, his wife contacted me to shoot his welcome home SURPRISE party. It was an honor to be the photographer for this amazing event! Everyone was dressed in red, white and blue and played patriotic music as he walked in the door – he was totally surprised! It was a wonderful evening celebrating his safe return home. I didn’t know them prior to the event but after this night, I can honestly say, I am lucky to have met this wonderful man and his very proud family. The whole event made me proud to be an American. He has gotten a bit of publicity and WCPO interviewed him at the event. (I watched it that night and saw myself taking pictures….a very funny experience for me!) I tried to find the video but found this instead. I feel so thankful for all of the service men and women fighting for our freedom! THANK YOU Jon and THANK YOU to our soldiers fighting for our country. God Bless America!
